Positive Result
Towards the last 2 rounds of the MSF Series Super Turismo race, Estrada by Pulzar Malaysia had a good result in the 5th round race. This time in different format Sprint Race (2 Heat Race)
The Honda Civic EF #636 driven by Asrul Ali finished second in the Super 1500. According to Asrul “Starting the race in the 8th spot on the grid, I managed to overtake the #916 race car from Todak Racing in 1st lap and managed to maintain the P1 position until the end of the Heat 1 race. I face brake issue in race 2 and this is a bit of a disruption to the race. For safety reasons and not taking risks, I maintain the position and finished second. With a record time of 2.38 on Heat 2, I am happy with the performance of #636. We will try better in 6th round MSF finale ”.
Failing to finish the race in the last 4 rounds despite being ahead of the race, Fadhlan & Azwan’s Toyota Starlet #969 returned on a quest to finished on the podium. Fadhlan, who drove in Heat 2, said: “We started in third place for Heat 2 and our mission was to stay ahead. For the record, we just changed the engine for this car and didn’t have the opportunity to test it first. Victory is still postponed for #969 but we are happy, despite being in fourth place.”
This is a very challenging race for our female driver. Losing the opportunity to win the overall championship in Saga Cup Casual and being involved in the accident became a part of the story of Saga #819. “Everything doesn’t seems right from beginning. The shutter pit tragedy struck early in the morning and the accident on Heat 2 in the afternoon had caused damage to my car. I started well in the qualifying session, but had to receive a “penalty” for posting faster time than allowed in the Saga Cup Casual category. Automatically I have to race in the Saga Cup Intermediate category. It’s sad that I missed the opportunity to challenge the Saga Cup Casual overall title. But from a positive point of view, I’m able to clock faster time now. My mission in the 6th round is definitely to finish on the podium for the Saga Cup Intermediate category, ”said Sharina Ramlle
Towards the final round of December, the team’s focus is on ensuring that Asrul Ali wins the Super 1500 category overall. With the Sprint Race (10 laps) race format and 3-minute mandatory pit stop, the race is definitely going to be exciting.
