A challenging round of MSF
Asrul Ali #636 in Super 1500 category qualified 2nd position in class and started the race in 10th position for Group 1. Started strong in the race, he managed to clinched 1st position at the end of 1st lap. Asrul Ali said “We’re struggling with brake issues since qualifying and were struggling for grip and had to brake early throughout the race. After the mandatory pit stop I dropped to 2nd position in class until end of the race. Overall, I had a good dogfight thru out the race. Awesome race. Will come back stronger. Finished 7th in Saga Cup Casual and 2nd in Saga Cup Ladies, Sharina shared about her weekend race “I felt more comfortable with the car after the technical team sort out some minor problem from last round and managed to improve my best time. Started 17th on the grid in casual class, I charged forward from the moment the lights turn green. I was positive I’m able to finish on podium, unfortunately we were stuck in pit lane during our pit stop. I lost 40 seconds during the pit stop due to the ‘traffic jam’ in the pit lane which in the end cause me a podium position. It is a good race, even though I miss the podium, I’m positive for the next race as I had improved on my personal best time.”
It’s a frustration for the whole team when our Toyota Starlet #969 unable to race in this round. According to Fadhlan “Based on our last round race, we are really looking into this round to secure a podium finished. Unfortunately, a few days ago we faced several issue with the car. Not taking any risk, we decided not to race this round. We will be back stronger next round and will do whatever it takes to be on podium.”
“With slight improvement on our Honda Jazz #619, there is some positive result from the race. Nevertheless, we need to keep improving to be among the podium contender” said team manager, Aliff Azreel.
